In this session, participants are introduced to cellular IoT. They learn how cellular IoT differs from traditional wireless technologies, with an emphasis on cost and prolonged operations. The session looks at some of the benefits the technology offers users, including years of operations, low TCO for CAPEX and OPEX, security, and global operations.
The session concludes with real-world ways that cellular IoT is accelerating digital transformations, with two use cases. In the first, we look at smart cities and smart metering, and how cellular IoT uses remote meter reading to prevent losses, make our world greener, and control municipality assets from a distance. Then we turn out attention to IoT for logistic asset trackers, which enable remote stock management and real-time supply chain visibility, particularly in terms of alerts on product quality, delivery, and condition.
