Tom Bongiorno is a Senior Support Scientist at Corning Life Sciences. He has expertise in stem cell therapy, bioprocessing, media development, and cryopreservation. Tom holds a Ph.D. in bioengineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

Best Practices for Mammalian Cell Cryopreservation

Since 2017 more than 35 cell and gene therapy products have gained FDA approval. Despite the rapid growth of the cell and gene therapy (CGT) sector, many challenges remain, including high costs, complex manufacturing processes, and contamination risks.
