Setting up the scene and providing a data sovereignty definition, its history and current challenges, Benjamin Wong, the Sheridan Fellow at National University of Singapore's Law Faculty, delivered this session as part of the Sovereign Cloud Summit 2022 that took place in Singapore on 16th November 2022.
The Sovereign Cloud Summit 2022 was the first-of-its-kind thought leadership event for policy makers, analysts, infrastructure leaders, data strategists, and technology providers, designed to further the conversation for Sovereign Cloud solutions and open discussion regarding challenges.
With the future of national data economies depending on physical & digital infrastructure, nations are increasingly and more acutely aware of the need for pervasive security as well sovereign control over digital supply chains, resulting in a focus on local cloud providers to fill the gap with modern sovereign cloud services built on a secure foundation.
