For many of the working population, their day jobs can be stressful in and of itself. However, for many, they have the additional struggle of having to hide and deny one of the most fundamental aspects of who they are.
According to a report from LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall, one in ten black, Asian and minority ethnic LGBT staff have been physically attacked because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, compared to three per cent of white LGBT staff. Similarly, research from TotalJobs showed that 60% of trans respondants have experienced some form of transphobic discrimination in the workplace.
So, what can we do in order to create an inclusive and supportive culture when it comes to supporting our diverse peers?
