About this talk

Kalray’s FlashBox™ is the first disaggregated NVMe storage array that was designed from the ground up to leverage the full potential of NVMe flash devices at massive scale, while ensuring the lowest storage Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). It allows to operate disaggregated NVMe SSDs with the same performance of local NVMe or direct-attached devices. Built on an off-the-shelf appliance, the solution addresses the key challenges of scale-out NVMe storage: scalability, performance, cost-efficiency, openess and ease of use. Kalray Flashbox™ is powered by a new class of fully programmable data-centric processors: the Kalray MPPA® DPU (Data Processor Unit). It runs all the critical functions of a disaggregated storage appliance on one single chip without the x86 hefty performance penalty to run data services.
