Over the past decade, the evolution of traditional corporate tax compliance and reporting tools has been limited. These tools are only supporting part of the end-to-end process with Excel spreadsheets being relied upon heavily for many process steps (eg, data collection, transformation, calculation, and reporting).
Low-code data preparation and analytics tools such as Alteryx are helping tax and finance functions streamline aspects of tax compliance and reporting, reducing risk and manual effort whilst improving quality and increasing insights into data. Many tax teams are now using Alteryx and other data analytics tools, automating routine data preparation processes, improving auditability and confidence in the numbers.
Whilst these tools can achieve some great things, many tax professionals have had limited exposure and experience to understand their capabilities and where they should be used.
We will be running a series of educational sessions sharing the experience of tax professionals and tax technologists through their evaluation and implementation of data preparation and analytics tools such as Alteryx.
In our first session, Scott Smith (Tax Manager - Mirvac) will join Jim Edwards (Director - Cumulus Tax) to share their experience in transforming tax processes through data preparation and analytics tools.
We will cover:
- Examples where data preparation and analytics tools deliver the best ROI
- Skills you need to ensure success in implementation and beyond
- Considerations when implementing low-code technology
- Tips on how to quickly undertake your own trial of Alteryx
