About this talk

Did you know Cleveland is a leader in holistic medical-legal partnerships? The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland helped create the first medical-legal partnership in Ohio with The MetroHealth System nearly two decades ago, and today there are embedded Legal Aid attorneys and paralegals who work collaboratively on-site at various MetroHealth, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and University Hospitals locations. Legal Aid attorneys and medical providers collaborate together to solve legal issues that are barriers to health. Medical-legal partnerships integrate the unique expertise of lawyers into health care settings to help clinicians, case managers, and social workers address structural problems at the root of so many health inequities.
