Accelerating trends: Transforming efficiency in legal teams post covid-19

Presented by

Shana Simmons, General Counsel

About this talk

The covid-19 pandemic has led to a rapid transformation in the legal industry. General counsels have had to swiftly implement remote collaboration tools, develop in-house resources, and rapidly adapt business strategies, all under budgetary pressures. Remote collaboration tools have been essential to dealing with customers, workforce, suppliers and other stakeholders in the legal ecosystem. Seeking a balance between in-house and outsourced counsel while optimising productivity is one of the primary challenges. Teams are having to revisit their operational strategy to do more with less, without compromising on the client experience. This Insight Hour will explore the recent trends for legal teams and how they are driving efficiencies to increase productivity and profitability. Among the key questions we will explore are: - Which trends have seen a pandemic driven acceleration and which will last even after the pandemic? - To what extent has technology been a key driver of efficiency? - Is it more efficient to invest in-house or to use outside counsel? How do you balance the two to optimise productivity? - Is covid-19 transforming D&I in the workplace, and if so, how?
