The world is entering a new space age.
Digitisation has meant we are increasingly hungry for data transfer, be it for video-calls, e-commerce, video gaming, streaming, internet-of-things, or (potentially) self-driving cars. Space offers a way to transfer data via satellites.
At the same time, we have seen the end of post-Cold War unipolarity. States are now once more engaged in intense geopolitical competition, of which dominance in space technology is a core part.
These two trends are driving forward the space economy. However, whereas the previous Space Age of the 20th century was dominated by state spending, in the 21st century the private sector will play a much more prominent role. This creates an exciting new investment opportunity for investors.
