About this talk

Over the past few years, McLaren and Dell Technologies have been on a journey to test the limits of digital transformation in F1 Racing and bridge the gap between the physical world and its virtual copy, the digital twin. In this quest to leverage the power of data-driven transformation, McLaren has maintained their leadership through a culture of innovation, matched with advanced technology that supports outcome-based decision making. Working with real-time data and analytics is critical for their engineers’ productivity as they manage race day inputs of some 300 sensors on an F1 car that collects an average of 100 gigabytes of data per car. This requires complex AI/ML algorithms and simulation, real-time insights, and a software/hardware infrastructure delivered at scale just in time. This partnership and innovation have fuelled McLaren to successfully apply what they learned to other areas of their business the average person may not know them for - such as healthcare and transportation. In this session McLaren and Dell Technologies will discuss: • The Digital Twin concept and how McLaren leverages it across their business • Reduced cost of development, testing and certification using AI/ML and simulation • Level of trust in the digital twin • Applying the technology to power other verticals such as healthcare and transportation
