About this talk

The COVID-19 pandemic has swept across the U.S. generating unprecedented disruption of the election cycles. Amid forced closures and social distancing protocols, state and local election administrators face added complexity to find and connect new polling locations that protect voter health, and quickly upgrade election systems at multiple sites to support vote integrity by guarding against cybersecurity threats and election fraud. This webinar will be a discussion panel among seasoned public sector and network experts from Verizon and Cradlepoint, and will feature a recent success story as represented by the network manager of Dallas County’s Office of Information Technology. The webinar will be moderated by physical and cybersecurity expert, Hans Olson, followed by a Q&A session. Key takeaways: •Understand existing pain points of this federal election cycle in light of COVID-19 and threats to cybersecurity as agencies strive to maintain voter security •Examine available federal funding to support state and local election continuity plans and security measures •Illustrate successful and more secure elections system network models that can be quickly deployed or upgraded, and managed remotely at scale. •Explore the value of edge networking solutions that offer integrated security features and support additional security tools
