As we reflect on the year since “Last Christmas”, it’s clear: proper labeling and classification have never been more important.  Whether it’s ensuring Santa delivers the right presents (Santa Baby, take note!) or protecting sensitive business data, here’s why I’m passionate about classification:

Visual Marking – Just like color-coded wrapping for your spouse’s gifts, clear labels ensure everyone knows what’s inside without opening the box.
Metadata – The story behind the data! Classification tags make it easy to find, understand, and use data appropriately.
User Awareness – A little guidance goes a long way. Classifications empower users to handle information correctly, reducing risk.

And as we look ahead, what will the next 12 months bring for Data Classification? Expect advancements in automation, deeper integration with security tools, and a growing emphasis on user-centric approaches.
