About this talk

In a first of its kind report, Rapid7’s Ransomware Pain Points report uses data from the deep and dark web to analyze the data disclosure layer of double extortion attacks. With the release of the report, we’re sitting down with the authors to better understand the initial data disclosures intended to coerce victims to pay ransoms and what trends they identified in some of the hardest hit industries. During this webcast, we will discuss: - What is ransomware double extortion, how does it work, and why do criminals do it? - The most common (and uncommon) types of leaked data. - Which sectors display unique patterns in terms of data leakage. - How the collapse of the Maze ransomware group in November of 2020 changed the market. - Examples of actual disclosed data from Ransomware attacks. The webcast will also feature recommendations for responding to ransomware and double extortion.
